The main goal of the project is to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of transport by optimizing and harmonizing transport connections using modern transport models (TM). We strive to promote effective planning and operation of border crossings for all modes of transport based on the results of the developed models.
Specific objectives of the Project:
- Updating and harmonization of transport models of eastern Slovakia and western Ukraine and Harmonisation of the intentions of Slovakia and Ukraine in building transport infrastructure (road and rail).
- Variant assessment of the impact of the increase in mobility (with the planned reconstruction of Ukraine) on the capacity of transport infrastructure and border crossings in the Transport Model of Eastern Slovakia and defining the priority and importance of individual projects.
- Identification of the appropriate number, location and type of SK/UA border crossings according to the traffic flows of different transport modes based on data and determination of border crossing capacity parameters and design of optimal solutions for public passenger transport services between Slovakia and Ukraine.

Optimizing border crossings using transport models is in line with the overall goal of the program - creating better conditions for mobility and economic development in the region. This project is an important step towards a modern, efficient and integrated transport infrastructure on the border between Ukraine and Slovakia.
Our expectations:
This project will contribute not only to the improvement of transport infrastructure, but also to the deepening of cross-border cooperation, economic development of the region and increased comfort for citizens crossing the border. We will regularly inform about the progress of the project implementation and its results.
